Once Drupal 6 was close to release, I helped translate all the great new features and functionality into a human-readable feature list as part of the release announcement (Alas, the Drupal.org redesign broke the layout). I like to think it helped those interested in the then new version of Drupal to better understand what it was all about than by reading changelog.txt.
This exercise tought me I like to wrangle text. Since then, I’ve edited many a core and contrib user interface string to be shorter, more specific and actionable.
